Thoughts from the Keith Shrine, BY: Blue Lena: Aug.2008
(Note) Blue Lena is also the US
Editor for the Rolling Stones Fanzine - Stones Planet
- One thing you can't do is pigeonhole Peter's work,
which I am sure is how he likes it. It's all rock n roll as he
says, but he covers the gamut of rock, punk, glam, blues,
a bit of country, you name it, and it's all done with finesse.
His newest is no exception and is an eclectic collection of
all the above featuring true rockers, along with ballads and
instrumentals. Peter has a very unique voice and strong vocals,
laced with a touch of cigarettes and whiskey that all Keith
Richards fans should appreciate. Mr. Richards and the Stones
are of course one of Peter's many musical influences. His lyrics
are vivid, well thought out and paint pictures & stories. He
creates some haunting melodies and some voracious jams.
The cd requires quite a few listens until one can fully
appreciate each track because each time you listen you will
hear something new. I am loving the beautiful "Chinese
Dragonflies", the openning track "HURT" with a touch of
Richards/Wood interplay with the opening line "Is your
religion becoming taboo?". I would be remiss not to mention
the clever & catchy "Butterflies & Damsels in Distress", "My
Right Arm, Wrong Vain". The middle eastern melodic "If
Only I had a Crystal Ball" and a fabulous tribute to Johnny
Thunders "Dead or Alive" including guitarist Steve Conte of
the N.Y. Dolls. |

- "A Plush Horse...with a Monkey on a String" By: Peter Blast :
Peter Blast dazzles, Peter Blast shines, Peter Blast rocks.
How can one person be so talented? He has a habit of writing
some of the most catchy, beautiful and dream-tastic music,
with just enough rock to make it all roll. This latest release doesn't
deviate one bit from this winning formula and in fact, improves it
slightly!! I Love it! He's like a fine Barolo, aged nicely and
well-rounded as a Performer.

| punkglobe.com (UK) - Peter Blast is a Living rock n roll Legend, who is still wiping the floor with the competition. Peter delivers a brand of trashy rock n roll that seriously puts him in the same league as the likes of the NY Dolls. I've already had the pleasure of hearing some of his forth coming release and I can honestly say its one of the Best records I've Ever heard. |
| The N.Y. Waste (N.Y.C.) - Blast's voice is surprisingly strong, he's so switchblade skinny that he barely outweighs his guitar. Peter's act is remarkably similar to his dear departed friend Johnny Thunders yet unique enough to call Peter's own. Oh, and Peter is still alive. Peter rolls with an authority proving he's very much alive and well and as sharp as a knife as ever. Blast and company
congealed like Jell-o shots at a forth of July picnic after only one rehearsal session on a wet and rainy Manhattan night. Peter continued to perform High Octaine Rock n Roll that burnt this city to the ground.

| Black Angel Pomotions (Georgia, USA) - Peter Blast is the epitome of what a Rock n Roll gypsy is supposed to be. looks included. A religious experience to be treasured. There's so many standouts its impossible to speak of them all. All the tracks are nothing short of amazing. |
| STEEL Radio 93 (N.J.,USA) - Its about time someone took notice of this true Rock n Roll Pioneer. The CD is a magnificent compilation of works that the entire world should bare witness to. Peter's blend of Rock, Punk, Blues and Country are a perfect mixture to please. |
| Hussieskunk (Ohio, USA) - Peter Blast managing to emerge from the seventies punk explosion with a creative fire that, bellows through this "Punk icon". An excellent addition to any cd collection. |
